My name is Michael L. Beckley. I was born in Minnesota and raised in Texas. My wife and I moved to California in 1998. I am a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing in Livermore for almost twenty years. When I am not taking care of patients or training residents, I am cycling or driving my teenagers to their activities.
Q: What are some fun activities to do in Livermore?
Livermore has a lot to offer for just about everyone. Hiking, cycling, fishing, and sports are very popular in Livermore. I like to travel but I am always glad to come home!
Q: What makes the Livermore community so special?
Livermore has a rich history of immigrants who started ranching here many decades ago. We have one of the leading national laboratories that advances science and security. The access to open space is wonderful!
Q: Please tell us about where you work and what you love about what you do?
My surgical practice is in Livermore and Tracy. I am on the medical staff at Stanford Health Care-Tri-Valley. I enjoy meeting new patients and learning about them and their families. My specialty is oral and maxillofacial surgery. What makes oral and maxillofacial surgery so interesting is that it is at the crossroads of dentistry, surgery, and medicine.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Posada, Vietnoms, Tequila’s, and Saigon Café are very good. However, there are many excellent choices in Livermore.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
Almost 20 years!
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Out of Africa and Ted Lasso.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Treat others like you would want to be treated.
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I miss Dom’s!
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
We are very lucky to have the Bankhead Theater!

I am learning to fly fish.
