Moved to California almost five years ago for a job at The Lab. Really love spending time outdoors and hiking whether it be in the east bay hills, the coast, the redwoods, the desert, or the mountains! At the same time also really enjoy lazy time at home with a good book and spending time with friends.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Currently a scientist at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab. Love that every day is different with unique and challenging problems to solve.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Wasabi Bistro and Tommy Katsu. I love sushi!

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I have always wanted to visit Antarctica, it has always intrigued me.

Favorite movie is Fargo, favorite TV show is Fraiser
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Be sure to keep your work-life balance in check. Nobody has ever said “I wished I worked more” on their death bed.

Climbing Vinson Massif, the highest point of Antarctica

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I don’t feel like i’ve been here long enough to develop any nostalgia… but I do already miss Anita’s Taqueria downtown. I have great memories of visits there when I first moved to town.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Probably my best friend because I rarely see him these days. Wasabi bistro because I can never get too much sushi!
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Laid back and friendly community, with many different perspectives represented.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Oh geeez, I hate this question! It’s like when you start dating someone and they ask “where is this going?” when all you want is to just ride it out and enjoy the moment and see where things take you. Pass!
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’ve kept a journal since I was 16 years old and have written in it every single day

Nepal

Favorite month = December. Favorite holiday = Thanksgiving. Best single day = February 29th.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My mother, even though she passed away more than 20 years ago.
Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Freshly brewed coffee in the morning and the inside of an ice cream store.
