Hi all! I am a teacher who loves working with middle school students because they are the best age group ever! I grew up in Livermore and Pleasanton and love living in my hometown. I went to Harvest Park Middle School and then taught there for 13 years before making the move to teach at Christensen Middle School where I have been for the last 3 school years. When I am not busy torturing middle school kids, I love to hang out with my husband and watch our two girls in whatever sporting event it is the season for. In my free time, I love to settling in with a good book or work on a quilting project.
Q: What are some fun activities to do in Livermore?
Livermore is the BEST! Our downtown has so many fun shops and restaurants. I love that we have theaters and a bowling alley in town. The parks, trails and vineyards give us good reasons to get outside.
Q: What makes the Livermore community so special?
The best thing about Livermore is the small town vibe and the tight community. There are so many wonderful people who make Livermore home.
Q: Please tell us about where you work and what you love about what you do?
I am a teacher at Christensen Middle School and the best part of my job is the people that I work with. There is a family feel on campus and it is a blessing to work with people who care about kids. I love being able to share my love of literature with my students, whether they want me to or not. Teaching can be stressful, but it is so rewarding too.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Hop Devine is 100% our family favorite! Calafia, Hops and Sessions, Sons of Liberty, Cinco Taco, and Maple Street Eatery are up there too.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
My husband and I have lived in Livermore for 16 years and I have worked here for 3.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Dave and Jill Victor! Cabana Dave’s catered our engagement in 2006 and then in 2014 Dave and Jill became the BEST nextdoor neighbors a girl could ever hope for.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I really don’t watch a ton of T.V. but I have really enjoyed making my oldest daughter watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer with me.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Work hard and control the things that you can. Try to not worry about things that are out of your control.
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
The Honey Wine Festival is one of my favorite things downtown. It was always so much fun to go there with my brother and our friends back when we were in our 20s.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love that there is so much local history! There is always somewhere to explore and fun events to go to.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I was an Academic All American in Cross Country for Sonoma State.
Q: What is your favorite holiday?
It really is a toss up between Halloween and Christmas.
Q: Who inspires you?
My husband is the reason I want to be a better person.
Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Family. Friends. Comfort.
What is the best way to get a hold of you?
