My name is Rachel Bhan, I was born and raised in California. I started working for State Farm Insurance in 1992, its how I put myself through college and graduate school. I started my own Agency in June of 2000. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of personal connections and quality customer service, and I am passionate about helping my customers protect what matters to them most.
While I am passionate about protecting what matters most in life, I am also passionate about living a life worth protecting! I love traveling the world with my family, sharing my adventures/challenges of being a working mom while raising two teenage daughters, snacking on tacos with my husband, and spending sunny Saturdays with my girlfriends.
Q: What are some fun activities to do in Livermore?
Exploring new restaurants, Crossfitting, hiking, long Sunday drives through the backroads of Livermore, and meeting up with my girlfriends for an afternoon of winetasting.
Q: What makes the Livermore community so special?
Livermore is THE MOST friendliest town I have ever lived in. That’s coming from someone who was born and raised in the Bay Area.
Q: Please tell us about where you work and what you love about what you do?
I have been serving communities all over the State of California as a State Farm Insurance Agent for 22 years, fueled by a deep passion to give back to the people who helped me build my business. I greatly value my customers; I wouldn’t be where I am today without them! That motivates me to provide the best service possible through personal touches, such as always being available to talk and building a fully licensed team to serve the community. I know the power of giving back to my community, even beyond the world of insurance, and I bring that ethics with me in everything I do beyond the walls of my office. I support our community in some big ways, like building a preschool and working with homeless shelters, but the work that means the most to me is serving families in need. Giving families a good, strong start on the right foot can mean everything to them.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
El Charro-best mango jalapeno margaritas you’ll ever taste, Last Word-great for a night out with a group friends, Uncle Yu’s-miso sea bass to die for.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
My husband and I moved to Livermore in 2005.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Shirley Bottenfield De Caen, also a resident of Livermore. Shirley works tirelessly in the community feeding the homeless and helping anyone in need. I met her through the work I do with Shepherd’s Gate and If Only You Inc, Inc organization that helps foster children.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I hate to admit this, The Housewives of New Jersey. I know, I know….but it helps me relax.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
When you focus on the good, the good increases.
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
First Street Alehouse. When we first moved here, they were in a small space next to where they are now. It’s exciting to see how much they’ve grown. Their new space is absolutely beautiful!
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The community really comes together to support each other. If someone needs help, you just need to ask.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’ve been in a few television commercials wayyy back in the day. Everything from skin care to insurance.
Q: What is your favorite holiday?
Personally, it’s the First Day of School. Keeping the girls entertained all summer is no easy task. So when they go back to school, I throw a huge “Back to School Bash” at my house. Yes, that’s right. Drop your child off to school and head over to my house. Party starts at 8:05 am. I hire a DJ, a taco truck, and make sure I have lots of champagne on ice to share with my Livermore Moms.
Q: Who inspires you?
My daughters, Ashima & Aashna are a daily reminder for me to continue to dream big, work hard, stay focused, and surround myself with good people.
Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Warm, cozy, and filled with laughter.
What is the best way to get a hold of you?
