I was originally born in London, England. But moved around the world a couple times before my parents moved back to England when I was in High School. I moved to Livermore for college and commuted to San Francisco for art school. I now live up near Placerville with my wife and two boys. But I pass thought Livermore a lot either shooting content for companies or seeing friends.

Q: What are some fun activities to do in Livermore?
Being a photographer a lot of my favorite activities in Livermore revolve around seeking out the wildlife off North Livermore and the surrounding wine country. But I also really enjoy a fun night out with friends downtown and the surrounding Livermore areas. Getting tattooed is one of my all-time favorite activities in general, and I go exclusively to Inkestry in Livermore.

Q: What makes the Livermore community so special?
I think the most amazing part about the evolution I have seen in Livermore over the years is its ability to still hold on to that old town close knit American feeling you get walking downtown, while also being able to add new modern touches along the way. The community feels welcoming and proud of who they are.

Q: Please tell us about where you work and what you love about what you do?
So I work all over the place is the easy answer. I am a photographer and in the position you find yourself in some very strange places. I have been shooting professionally for 15 years. During that time I was a Staff photographer for the Clorox Company, shooting everything from their NASCAR to tabletop stills, the San Jose Sharks during their Stanley Cup runs, and hundreds of events and special occasions mixed in around those. I now am the Creative Director at Dakota Shy Wine in Napa, the Creative Director for the Mavericks Surf Awards in Half Moon Bay, and Co-owner of a company called Be a Shark where we take people to see Great White Sharks. Being an artist and being able to make a living creating art is no simple task, but I am very grateful to be able to do what I love for a living.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
The food in Livermore is some of my absolute favorite. Being as it was right around the corner from my house and also has the most incredible Steak sandwich, Hop DeVine is my go to when I’m back. I also love Tequila’s Taqueria, Star Anise, The Last Word, Denica’s, Ale house, Terra Mia, and many more. One thing you are not lacking in Livermore are amazing places to eat.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I moved to Livermore from England in 2004 and lived around the area till 2018 when I moved up to near Placerville. But I am around Livermore a lot still, either passing thought or shooting content for companies.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Oh that’s a really hard question. I have met so many amazing people in Livermore. So many people that helped shape my life and the way I experience the world. I’m not sure if I could narrow it down to just one. But when we bought our first house off Dalton by the RC plan area. The neighborhood was very friendly and I made good friends with a man named Jim who lived across from us. Jim was a cement truck driver at the place off Stanley and sported the most amazing handlebar mustache. I use to go over to his house whenever I would see him out working in his garage where he was building a hot rod. His lovely wife keeping him company as he worked. The entire process was begging to be documented so I ended up making my first short film about him and this car. Unfortunately, during the building of the car his wife passed away from cancer. The film meant a lot more after that had happened. But to me the way Jim handled the entire situation was really remarkable, and I was honored to have been able to make that for him and his family.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Yet another thing I’m not sure I could narrow down to just one. I love documentaries. Obviously, Jaws is up there. But also really any comedy, or action or drama… lol.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
In general? Hmmmm Be Kind? Take a breath, go outside, move your body. Cut yourself some slack. Enjoy the process. Above all remember you get one go on this little Pebble, make the most of it.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Well for former, in my college days I think we can all agree many fun nights were had at the Blue Bar downtown. And I remember going into Dom’s a lot as a kid for this and that. Sold my first large painting in Movida. But when I am back now it’s usually a stop in at Hop DeVine or Denica’s for a burrito that makes me really nostalgic.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The small town feel while still keeping up with the times.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I am honestly a “what you see is what you get” kinda guy. I guess a lot of people don’t know I won an Emmy when I was with the San Jose Sharks?

Q: What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas, hands down.

Q: Who inspires you?
People who get told NO they can’t do something, but still do. People who are driven and passionate, but also humble. People who follow through on what they say they are going to do. People who take ownership.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Family, Happy, Strong
